Or maybe it was reminding me to stop and pee? Coffee in, coffee out.
This surprised me as I’d never seen it before. Currently driving a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer that belongs to the dealership. This was at the end of an hour and a half drive. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! it’s an alert that comes on after x amount of time reminding the driver to take a break. Yes, you can customize the interval. Seems like the default is a little short.

My BMW has that too, it beeped at me while I was cruising through Florida. I briefly panicked wondering what was wrong with the car.

In my car it senses if you are drifting too much on the highway and recommends you take a break because you might be too tired to drive.

That’s what I thought this was at first, because it came on right as I coasted up behind a big rig that was exiting. I coasted for about half a mile after having just used the cruise control for the last 50. It surprised me because this car is very lacking in technology. After looking it up I learned it’s purely based on time, nothing else.

At least it didn’t suddenly pop that alert at you while you were drinking your coffee. That would have been trans-Morissettean ironic.

BRAKE
I always find this parking brake indicator for the American market weird.

Yeah, I’d just finished drinking my coffee about two minutes before it came on.

My Audi beeps at me every 2 hours if I drive without stopping. I think the most I got it up to was 8 hours. You’ve gotta make a pretty quick gas stop for it to do that though.

It’s also telling you to drive around looking for casual sex.

Makes sense, because “coming inside for coffee” totally means sex.

No, being a Mitsubishi, it means everything is half-assed... so instead of actually detecting when you start driving erratically it just pops up a warning saying “hey, you’ve been driving for over an hour, feel like stopping?”
